Description:
What an optocoupler does is to break the connection between signal source and signal receiver, so as to stop electrical interference. In other words, it is used to prevent interference from external electrical signals. EL4N35 can be used in AV conversion audio circuits. This device allows you to transmit an electrical signal between two isolated circuits with two parts: an LED that emits infrared light and a photosensitive device which detects light from the LED.
The 4N35 is an optocoupler for general purpose applications. It contains a light emitting diode optically coupled to a phototransistor in 6-pin DIP package.
