ماژول لیزری GY-56 یک ماژول فاصله سنج مبتنی بر لیزر است و می تواند فاصله 2 متری را تشخیص دهد. این ماژول به راحتی نصب و راه اندازی می شود و توان مصرفی پایینی دارد. اساس کار ماژول فاصله سنج لیزری انتشار و انعکاس نور ساطع شده از ال ای دی است و با بازتاب نور از سطح جسم و محاسبه مدت زمان دریافت آن، فاصله جسم تشخیص داده می شود.
GY-56 module از طریق ارتباط I2C و میزان نرخ داده 115200 کیلو بیت بر ثانیه تبادل داده را انجام میدهد.
