The Arduino MKR family was created for makers and engineers to quickly prototype IoT projects.
MKR WIFI 1010 is a major improvement of MKR 1000 WIFI. It is equipped with an ESP32 module manufactured by U-BLOX. The board aims to accelerate and simplify the prototyping of WiFi-based IoT applications through the flexibility and low power consumption of the ESP32 module.
The MKR WIFI 1010 development board is compatible with the Arduino IT cloud, Microchip's ARM-based MCU, and Espressif's ESP32 programmable processor.
The Arduino MKR WiFi 1010 is the easiest point of entry to basic IoT and pico-network application design.Whether you are looking at building a sensor network connected to your office or home router, or if you want to create a BLE device sending data to a cellphone, the MKR WiFi 1010 is your one-stop-solution for many of the basic IoT application scenarios.
MKR WIFI 1010 includes 32-bit computing power, abundant commonly used I/O interfaces, and low-power Wi-Fi with Cryptochip for secure communication using SHA-256 encryption. In addition, it also provides easy-to-use Arduino software (IDE) for code development and programming. All these features make this board a good choice for compact emerging IoT battery-powered projects. Its USB port can be used to power the board (5V). It has a Li-Po charging circuit that allows the Arduino MKR WIFI 1010 to use battery power or an external 5 volt power supply to charge the Li-Po battery when the external power supply is running. Switching from one source to another is done automatically.
